If you and I are ever to come out from behind our duck blinds and our exchanges of clevernesses, as friends and men of honor, this---sincerely---is it.
No snark, no nothing. This is why I sought you out and held on to you in the very first place, and through all our bumps in the road. I have arguments, but in the end, I'm speechless. If we're ever to be sincere with each other, the time is now.
Every age is presented with its moral challenge, its philosophical challenge, its fill-in-the-blank challenge. This is ours.
I'll respect any sincere reply. We've invested a lot in each other.
Why am I reminded of the old Aesops'fable about the boy who cried tu quoque too often?
