Wingnut Talking-Point Bingo

At Crooked Timber.

Whew. I was worried it was just me. But pretty much everybody seems to have come to the same conclusion about the "debate."

Of course when you use "everybody," WS, it almost always means people who agree with you. Crooked Timber? A very smart blog, but less than a stone's throw from where you live.

"Everybody." Oh, my. Pauline Kael territory.

But even I agree in this instance.

Although what Sen. Obama means by "distractions" [three times in the first 20 minutes] is what he's understandably suspect about, it was unfair that both candidates were constantly put on defense.

Even I, as a hostile audience, thought that the opportunity of putting whatever positive vision they have for America's future should have been given first chair. What wasn't about the "horse race" was about the gotchas.

I bet they'd have got fairer treatment from Fox News, which you refuse to watch, and therefore have no way of knowing...
