G8 Riots

Almost a thousand people injured...with luck, many of those are those instigating the violence.

It's almost certain that the instigators here come from the fairly radical left, correct?

I mention this only because I sometimes worry that liberals forget that the radical left is just as insane as the radical right.

That is all.

No doubt left-wing radicals and anarchists.

Liberals exist as a bulwark against the radical left. That's why Phil Ochs didn't find us lovable. Heh.

Unfortunately, the bullies on the right (O'Reilly, et al) try to marginalize anyone left of Joe f'ing Lieberman as the "loony left". And I have to admit that I'd be sorely tempted to riot on his ass if I ever had the misfortune to be in the same room with blotchy Bill. Or he the misfortune to meet me.

But let me ask one rhetorical question: Is there any symmetrical bulwark on the right? The radical right is in charge of the Executive Branch. Hardly anyone in the conservative movement ('movement' as in "take a wicked nixon") lifted a voice against the authoritarian Bushists. OK, I'll give you Bob Barr as the exception that proves the rule.

Compassionate conservatism was supposed to represent the bulwark on the right. A modest foreign policy, too. As we know now, both were premeditated lies.

In the end, calling liberals to account for anarchists is at least as unwarranted as calling conservatives to account for Tim McVeigh. And it's much less warranted than calling conservatives to account for Eric Rudolph and the Army of God (almost slipped and called them the "Party of God", i.e. American Hezbollah).

No one forgets. You just can't seem to remember we no longer live in the 60's.

We get that there's evil all around us on all axis. That's a qualitative judgment. What seems to be desperately missing from you is a quantitative assessment.

Anti matter is just as bad as matter and is the mirror image. Funny thing is, there isn't jack sh*t of it around anywhere.

Qualitative vs. quantitative. Get with the program, dude.
