I'm fascinated by your attempts to portray what is a pretty sophisticated and far more complicated view of Tweety by Atrios as a cartoon colored with a crayon with the caption "lunatic left".

I'm not sure it's fair, because you didn't use the term in this post, but your prior post did include in the heading 'loony left'.
So, where does Atrios characterize Matthews as rabid right? I don't think he's ever done that. If you can point this out, please do. Has he pointed out that he's a lap dog? Sure. But a rabid right winger?
Judge a tree by the fruit it gives. But does Atrios characterize Matthews as rabid? That's just a projection of your own - i.e. you're reading that into him pointing to an actual quote by Matthews. BTW, for future reference, Rush is rabid. Michael Savage is rabid. Matthews? He's just a lap dog. Maybe a poodle who can heel without a leash.
And yes, as LC pointed out, the "lunatic left" was a reference to the previous post. Apparently, we're just context free around here.
WRT to the actual thrust of this post - that Atrios is criminally negligent in his interpretation of Tweety - I mean Matthews - you really should read the Media Matters post on him, which Atrios likely wrote. His view on Tweety - I mean Matthews - is rather more complex than just a member of the "rabid right".
And unless you can actually back up your assertion that Atrios is characterizing Matthews as a member of the "rabid" right, you should consider yourself equally negligent in your interpretation.
Matthews is a Democrat but not a leftist. Hence the confusion from the left, which believes, aside from Joe Lieberman, such an animal doesn't exist. (Perhaps it doesn't, really...)
Media Matters is wack. Only the loony left go anywhere near it. David Brock traded one extreme for the other. Their methodology about who is "neutral" (there is no methodology) makes their scientific analyses of talk show guests so much quackery.
Andrea Mitchell neutral. Yeah, right. James Risen, with a new book whacking the Bushies, neutral. Uh-huh. Plus if you take "neutrals" out, the statistical difference between Dems and Repubs gets way exagerrated.
Besides, if you use actual screen/talking time, Chris uses 90% of it, so a "study" is superfluous. :-)

Because I used the term "loony left" in a *previous* post, that means that, by pointing out an error of Atrios in a *subsequent* post, I'm accusing him of being on the loony left?
Soooo...that's what they mean by putting something in context where you come from, is it?
I'll grant you there's a distinction between being a wingnut and being a wingnut lapdog, though.
Oh, and:
I'm perfectly willing to grant that I could be wrong here...but you'll note that *none* of your points--such as they are--in any way exonerate Atrios. All you've tried to show here is that the vice Atrios is accusing Matthews of is different than the one I say he's accusing him of.
His interpretation is still completely wrong and absurdly uncharitable, even if I turn out to be wrong about every point you've mentioned--which I don't.
You DO see that, right?

3)Yes, I am claiming Atrios isn't calling Matthews "rabid". Without the "rabid", your whole post is meaningless. "Atrios acuses Matthews of being a Zell Miller democrat" just doesn't have the ring of criminal negligence, does it?
