Vindictive Fun With Ambiguity

Oh, come on. I can't believe that CNN has had this headline up all day.

What appears at the top of the article itself isn't nearly as bad as the main-page headline they actually revised it to sometime during the afternoon:

Bush: 'People don't need to worry about security'

I think that may be the bit you're referring to, actually, but I am glad to see your post, as I have been ranting inwardly about this all afternoon myself.

Yeah, the main headline is way better/worse, but I thought there was some ambiguity in the page headline, too.

And what about the possibilities for vindicative use of the Bushism that is the first line in the story: "This deal wouldn't go forward if we were concerned about the security for the United States of America." But the deal is going forward. Ergo, the Bush administration is not concerned about the security of the United States of America.
