Well, the radical left now has a central role in setting the agenda for the Democrat party. And the radical left wants open borders. At least in the West. Because its main goal is the destruction of the West...

   So these efforts to create de facto open borders--e.g. the "abolition" of ICE--are not going away until the Dems move back to the center and energetically repudiate their lunatic fringe...

...something I no longer think is inevitable...

   But just to pick one point out of this: Judis seems to regard himself as criticizing Steyer from a saner, more centrist position...speaking for the saner, more centrist Dems...who don't want open borders, but merely disagree with how Trump is enforcing immigration laws...

   But that's ridiculous.

   Most of those objections are based on videos of shrieking activists...and screaming illegals who--surprise!--don't want to be deported! Unless you think that shrieking should make you immune from prosecution, those videos should carry no weight. Unless you basically think we shouldn't be enforcing the laws, you have no real objection to how Trump is doing it. OH NOEZ! HE'S EVEN ENFORCING THE LAWZ IN DEMOCRATZ STATEZ!!!!!

The left has created chaos wherever it can whenever we try to enforce these laws.

It's just silly to pretend that Trump is somehow enforcing the laws unjustly, and the Dems would be just fine with some kind of reasonable enforcement.

Really what's going on is: the lunatic fringe is screaming and crying whenever any immigration laws are enforced, and convincing the bleeding-heart sorta-centrists on the left that this shows that the enforcement is bad.

Oh, and then there's the Z0MG THEYZ WEARIN MAZKZ!!!!

As I keep pointing out: the left can end that tomorrow by not doxing LEOs and threatening their families.

Of course they won't.

Then there are the "concentration camps"--ie detention centers. Where the detainees can leave whenever they want, so long as they go back home. And we'll give 'em $3k to do so.
