WSJ: Trump Took on Harvard; The Fight Isn't Over

I shouldn't have an opinion on most things. Perhaps the Compact for Academic Excellence is among them. After all, I don't really understand academia at such a high level...being a professor doesn't really prepare you to evaluate education policy for the entire USA... Like being a plumber doesn't necessarily equip you to speak authoritatively on national infrastructure... Something like that.
   Anyway.
The neuroscience guy may have a good point--Jonny Quest tells me--when he says that Harvard's endowment is (basically) earmarked for other things.
However:
If your work really is that important, dude...here's what you need to do:
Tell Harvard to quit being a goddamned leftist reeducation camp.
Because something has to be done to stop that insane bullshit.
I don't want my tax money going toward funding the totalitarian madness of the left.
I'm--obviously--not saying that I think the Trump administration's approach is optimal. But I can say with great confidence that something has to be done, and the administration's approach is at least in the ballpark of being better than nothing. It's not insane. And the histrionics of (left-wing) academicians about it are largely based on nothing more rational than tribal political commitment. Most of their opinions are no more well-informed than mine.
The difference: I know that I don't know...they don't know, but think they do...
And you know what Socrates taught us about that...
