The Bad Trajectory of The Trump Administration

IMO the trend line is not good.
The latest bad sign, IMO, is the State Department warning foreigners not to "glorify violence" on pain of losing visas.
Not that I like glorifying violence, nor that I think non-citizens deserve exactly the same speech protections that citizens have...but this seems significantly over the line to me. And, as with the flag-burning nonsense: I don't expect it to be applied in a content-neutral way.
Look, I don't have a commitment to political parties anymore. I can't believe I was ever stupid enough to have a moderately-strong commitment to the Dems. But, anyway: I'm not falling for that again.
Right now, the Republicans are less crazy. But it's the safest of bets that they'll get crazier as they gain ascendance. And I used to expect the Dems to shake off Woketarianism and move back toward the center...though I thought there would be signs of it before now. Sadly, I'm getting concerned that it might be a more persistent pathology than I used to think
But, anyway: at some point in the future--maybe sooner, maybe later--I expect the red and blue trend lines to converge/cross. And then I (we?) will have to throw support to the Dems to check the Pubs. Though...it is difficult for me to imagine that so long as the Dems remain in the thrall of the PC/woke cult... Open borders, gender and race pseudoscience, climate apocalypticism and the rest...these are insane and extremely destructive ideas/policies. The red team will have to get very crazy indeed before I could consider supporting (no matter how tactically) a party that promotes them.
The worst-case scenario, again, is: the Dems stay insane and the Pubs ramp up the crazy until it's a toss-up...or worse...
I tend to pin my hopes on Vance. If Trump can just keep it between the ditches well enough to (a) not wreck the ship of state and (b) not repulse the center enough to vote for (God help us) Newsome or worse in '28, we might just get through this with things generally intact.
(And then, of course, there's China, the Social Security/entitlements crisis, and all the normal horrors...)

   JMO, of course.
But I've been wrong about politics most of the time, most of my life...so...grain of salt and all that.
