"Trump's Rhetoric on DC Echos a History of Racist Narratives About Urban Crime"

So...it "echos" "racist" "narratives"...no, wait, sorry: a "history" of "racist" "narratives" about urban crime...
Well, everything is racist to the left...and everything is a "narrative"...and in this case, we're apparently just talking about "echos"...so...God knows what to make of this.
Crime is a significant problem in DC. That's just a fact.
OTOH, crime (or at least violent crime?) seems to be coming back down, probably as a result of the left's influence waning. BLM, George Floyd and the Ferguson Effect, "depoliticing," "decarceration," radical progressive DAs refusing to prosecute criminals...all these things pumped up crime over the past decade.
But the real question here is: is federalizing the DC police a good move (now)?
   Answer: I don't know.
As usual, the left is going hysterical on the basis of a bunch of bullshit about "racist" "narratives" and whatnot. None of that matters.
As for the actual question about what to do about DC: I don't know. Maybe Heather MacDonald knows...but I don't.
And as for Trump's rhetoric--oh, how the left is obsessed with rhetoric--I don't care. And such claims by the left can now safely be dismissed. Such claims are mere tics on the left by this point.
Finally, of course: blacks commit more crimes--a lot more crimes--than whites, proportionally speaking. Including more violent crimes. The left thinks its racist to acknowledge this...and it thinks that racism is worse than falsehood...and worse than violent crime...so...that quasi-religious commitment pervades much of what it says. The "racism" referenced in the title seems to be a matter of such admissions of fact.
So here we are again: the left is obviously insane and full of shit...Trump's reaction seems plausible...but honest, sensible experts (rare as they seem to be in this vicinity) might well be able to tell us that it's not.
