Martin Hackworth: Crisis? What Crisis?
Pretty good, I say.
I don't agree that "the theatrics are exactly the point." They're a clever and morally sketchy method at best...and the manifestation of some sort of mental problem at worst.
If he weren't so much less bad than the other guys, there's no way I could tolerate them [the theatrics].
But, as Hackworth argues--almost en passant--he is.
So much less bad, that is.
We escaped the braindead, ravening Woketarian cultists by leaping off a cliff into a raging river.
We always knew we'd be in for a wild ride.
It was our only rational option.
But it's gonna be a wild ride, and it's not clear how it'll end.
[Addendum: it's like he's always right on the verge of fucking things up... And that makes eventually fucking things up almost inevitable.]
[And, of course, fucking things up in this case means not only fucking things up, but perhaps throwing control of the levers of government back into the hands of the unhinged blue team.]
[Eventually, I start to feel like I need to be wearing a Team Charybdis t-shirt...]
