Yet Another Report Concludes That COVID Came From the Wuhan Institute of Virology
Again I say:
With the exception of a few brief periods of time when some new evidence and analysis emerged that seemed like it might tip the balance of plausibility back toward the zoonotic hypothesis, the lab-leak hypothesis has almost always been the more plausible one.
That is: from the perspective of a lay observer, given the information available to people like me.
The public-facing medical-scientific establishment reacted as such groups typically now react: by dogmatically claiming not only that the LLH was false but obviously so. I saw one panel of virologists--and this was a webcast of a Zoom call...so the MSM can't be blamed for cherry-picking it to highlight--say that the LLH was "tin-foil hat territory."
Of course this leads us to the big conversation about progressive vs. populist views of expertise. But, when so many experts and organizations of experts have been ideologically captured by the same extremist ideology, it's hard to deny that the populists seem much less wrong than the other guys.
