Prediction: Racism Will Be Declared A Mental Illness

If the illiberal left is beaten back this time around, such a declaration might not be made until the next wave in 10 or 20 years. But I think it'll happen. Needless to say, when this is combined with the radically expansive conception of racism on the left, it's a particularly big problem. 

Objection: the left won't do this because it would rob racism of its moral dimension. Agreed--that's a problem for the hypothesis. We do sometimes at least try to categorize people as both crazy and evil--Hitler, needless to say, being the main example. Serial killers might be another.

At any rate; the APA will go along with it if it happens. It'll likely show up in the relevant future version of the DSM.
