Trump and Carson: "We'll Protect America's Suburbs"

Given what I currently seem to understand about it, this is an extremely important issue, and the Trump admin is--once again--on the right side of things.
This issue is a case study in how the left has gone wrong. Rather than aiming to increase freedom and opportunity, it's turned to restrictions on freedom and opportunity and the micromanagement of people's lives in order to pursue a restrictive vision of the good that's grounded in a highly racialized worldview that ultimately links up with extremist philosophical views of the left.
Look: leave people alone. Stop cranking up the number and intensity of gerrymandered, bullshit restrictions in ceaseless efforts to micromanage your idiosyncratic preferences into existence. Oh and: efforts to punish people who you imagine to have politically suboptimal attitudes and preferences.
Trump's right: deregulate, knock out any overly unjust restrictions, and improve the economy so that the rising tide lifts all boats. Then let people pursue their good as seems best to them.
   Trump's the liberal here.
The Dems and the left aren't any longer.

Also: just as they're doing their best to turn cities into urban hellscapes, they're also trying to urbanize the suburbs.
Honestly: a year ago I could understand people who thought this election was going to involve a difficult decision. (Three years ago, of course, I thought there could never be any question: a vote against Trump was the only possible option.)  At this point, I'm starting to get nervous for a different reason: it's like the Dems are trying to become as insane and repulsive and destructive and awful as quickly as possible. I mean honestly, it's like a joke... They've lost their grip and are now rocketing deep into Crazytown at an accelerating pace. Hey, I know...let's support roving bands of arsonous anarcho-communist blackshirts! And let's build some housing projects in every neighborhood! And let's take all the guns! I doubt the polls...but if roughly half of Americans are still even considering voting for these people at this point...Jesus... I fear for the country.
