More On The Delusional MSM Coverage Of Trump's Mt. Rushmore Speech
I still haven't listened to the second half of Trump's speech. But these media accounts of it are utterly delusional.
In my view, it is no small thing for us to be in a situation in which the most important American news organizations can produce such unhinged lunacy. Any respectable news organization would consider closing up shop after printing delusional nonsense like that.
Disliking Trump is one thing. I have exactly no trouble understanding that. But there is no excuse for so completely severing ties to reason and truth.
Three years ago I thought that Trump was one of the worst things, within reason, I could see happening to the country.
Shows what I knew.
Look, nobody expects perfect objectivity in such matters. But this is what happens when a political faction controls the news and rejects even the ideal of even modest degrees of objectivity as a matter of principle.
They reject the ideal for basically two reasons:
First, they glanced at some third-rate philosophy once that told them that objectivity was impossible.
Second, the claim that objectivity is impossible constitutes an excuse for not even trying to be objective--why try if it's impossible? And: you can't be blamed for failing to do something impossible.
Trump could make the Pope cuss. But that's no excuse for such "journalists" not even trying to do their damn jobs.
