The Left Moves The Overton Window Yet Again: Defunding The Police

   Is there any possible interpretation of 'defund' that isn't equivalent to eliminate?

   The left has gone insane. The push to eliminate police is not some outlier--it's right in the mainstream of their crazy. It's no crazier than thinking that men can turn themselves into women...though it might do more tangible, immediate harm. 

   And remember: the reason they want to defund the police is that about ten black Americans per year are killed by the police and classified as unarmed...though basically none are actually unarmed.

   The left isn't merely seized by one or two or ten or twenty terrible ideas. Their whole worldview, their whole mode of reasoning, their whole vision for the nation is insane. Individual insane ideas like eliminating the police are merely the offspring of the general insanity. 

   Even if the party's frontman doesn't explicitly adopt the policy, it's in there. That crazy idea and the attitudes and worldview and modes of thinking that spawned it are in the guts of the party now. And people with those attitudes would be part of a Biden administration. 

   On the bright side, I suppose, their ideas are progressively (as it were) becoming more overtly insane and immediately dangerous. 

   It's distantly possible that they'll tear the Dems apart before the election, produce a massive electoral thrashing, and by 2024 we'll have an at-least-vaguely sane, at least vaguely centrist Democratic party again.
