Poll: Majority Oppose Trump Impeachment; Most Dems Support It

I have no idea.
I don't know what warrants impeachment. I can't tell what's going on with Trump. My long-standing attitude has basically been that presidents shouldn't even tread on thin ice. Their actions should be unimpeachable, as it were. Part of me thinks that Trump is out of control and at least treading on way too much thin ice; even the appearance of impropriety is too much impropriety for a president. OTOH, the blue team, which includes the media, has lost its mind, and simply can't be trusted anymore. I've come to realize how much I've relied on their judgment--since, again, I don't have the time, energy, or background knowledge to do anything more than form vague impressions about most policy and political issues. Now it's clear that their judgment can't be trusted. Most people I respect think Trump is out of control. I trust their collective judgment more than I trust my own. But it seems to me that they're most making shit up based on their political presuppositions. They may be right--but no so's I can tell... Many of them assured me that the Manchurian Conjecture was the only possible explanation of Trump's actions. I resolved to wait for Mueller...but on the way, the collusion hypothesis simply became ridiculous. And it was obvious that it wasn't in any way the only possible (nor reasonable) hypothesis. The Mueller report came out...no collusion...but this seemed to have virtually no effect on the left. Anti-Trump fervor has seemed to me to be entirely undimmed. I've tended to expect we'd find obstruction...but it's a legal question I'm not qualified to speak on. It wouldn't surprise me. Neither red-team shenanigans nor blue-team hysteria surprise me anymore.
At any rate, I'm not opposed to impeachment. And as long as the process is basically reasonable, I'm happy to accept the conclusion. Though I feel as if this will just be the Mueller Report 2.0: there are only two possible outcomes: (1) Trump is destroyed; (2) the effort to destroy Trump moves on, undiminished, to a new front and a new phase. Already the blue team seems to be making excuses--We want to impeach him, but it's not fair! If we try and fail, he may gain from it politically!
I probably don't know what's going on now more than I've ever not known what's going on at any other time in my adult life.
