You missed the more obvious issue here: the Student Union(!) actually cracked down on these moonbats. They needed a sharp slap on the head, and they got one. Perhaps they will be better for a little light reeducation?
I'm glad there was pushback, and hope it was done right. Don't want the disease going and being worse than the cure...
