Jesse Singal Dares To Write A Reasonable Story About Kids Who Change Their MInds About Being "Trans"; Causes The Internet To Lose Its Mind

When anyone does dare to write anything that questions "trans" ideology, the rest of the internet loses. its. shit.
The Atlantic is, it says, running a whole series of responses to Singal's piece, of which two have apparently been published. I've only read the first response, by Thomas Page McBee, but it fits the pattern: it clearly expresses anger about Singal's heterodoxy...but in terms of actual content, it's extremely thin gruel compared to Singal's excellent story.
Jezebel, always good for a laugh, responded with this ridiculous piece of crap, which is such shit that I couldn't even make it through it. I had to quit at the now-standard how dare this non-"trans" person write on this topic?!?!?!?! objection. Just one of the many defense mechanisms deployed by the PC left to make sure their favorite pseudoscience goes unquestioned. 10,000 stories uncritically accepting "trans" ideology...a shit-ton of others explicitly arguing for it and dismissing its obvious incoherence with rhetorical waves of the hand...including the main defense: question one iota of this theory, shitlord, and you're a BIGOT! But a few piece that dare to question "trans" scripture...and...total freakout!

The Atlantic is obviously doing penance by publishing a whole series of politically correct essays in response...forgive us, O Left! We have strayed from the true faith! Pray, let us make amends! (Actually, it took guts for them to even publish Singal's piece at all...who knows? Maybe they're as fed up with "trans" bullshit as I am...)
Slate is on it as well--as per usual, with a piece by someone "transgendered"...because of course, no one who's not is permitted to discuss the issue. Objectivity is, obviously, not the thing that's wanted here.
Someone flips his shit at Medium, shrieking that Singal is "transphobic"...I mean, he must be...he hath questioned the holy "narrative"! Question and thou art a bigot, bigot! There's some crowing about badgering the Atlantic into changing the title of Singal's piece. Originally it was allegedly:
Your Child Says She’s Trans. She Wants Hormones and Surgery. She’s 13.”
Allegedly the editors were pressured into changing the title to:
When Children Say They're Trans
But when I read it, the title was neither of those, but:
When A Child Says She's Trans
The author of the Medium piece claims that this "misgenders" the kid whose case is most prominent in the story, but--ignoring the fact that "misgendering" isn't an actual thing--that's not true. The girl was, well, a girl who, for awhile, thought she was a boy, but then realized that, well, she wasn't.
Look: trans ideologues cannot allow their crazy theory to be questioned. If people are allowed to think about it honestly, only the most deeply brainwashed gender studies majors are going to buy it. Their only hope is shrieking as loud and as long as possible at those who point out that the Emperor has no clothes in the hope that this ludicrous nonsense can be unshakably ensconced in the culture before too many loudmouths, troublemakers and smartasses start pointing out that it doesn't make sense.
That's why we all need to be throwing support behind Singal, and anyone else with the guts to speak the obvious truth. Though: even if you disagree with Singal, you should be opposed to attempts to shout down open discussion of the issues.
