The Solutrean Hypothesis???

Whaaaaaat????
I have never heard of this before. At first I thought it had to be total tinfoilery (maybe some kind of Klan thing).
  But it's a for-real hypothesis.
  Earth is weird.

There's also a hypothesis that Africans migrated to central America during the Olmec period (1200 BCE to c. 400 BCE). This is based on the shape of their stone heads and noses. I don't think anyone takes it too seriously (meaning the chances are low that it happened), but it's an interesting hypothesis.

I did not know that.

Who're those guys who assess scientific hypotheses purely on the basis of how cool they are?

'Cause these would be way up there.

I don't think an official group of scientists exists that judges hypotheses based on how cool they are. That's left up to edumucated individuals like us.

LOL yeah, but there's like an official (tongue-in-cheek) organization / club / whatever that basically officially "accepts" hypotheses on the basis of how interesting / cool they are. It is (was?) kinda in that *Skeptical Inquirer*-type crowd.
