It's pretty likely that the only coverup of the meetings between the election and Jan 20 had very little to do with the Logan Act, and everything to do with the unsavory reasons for the meeting. It sounds very much like the Russians basically bribed Trump (and his campaign) with Clinton's emails.
Extremely unlikely...but I'd accept just about any way to get that guy out of office.
