Evergreen Settles With Weinstein
$500k sounds like an awful lot of money... It's rather difficult to believe that his...suffering or whatever...really was commensurate with that...but what do I know?
Imagine a hand palming a human face forever

Doubt very much the settlement was for his pain and suffering. Given that he and his wife resigned their positions on Friday this looks like a severance payment. (It may be characterized as damages but that might simply be for tax purposes) If he and his wife were making around 125 a year that would equal 2 years severance each, high but not outside of reason. The scary thing is, assuming he hadn't resigned, the school decided the best way to deal with this issue would be to pay him to go away. Not exactly a glowing endorsement of academic freedom.
He deserved far more based on what he went through. SJW freaks literally hunted the guy (searched cars, buildings asking if he was there) for weeks in the fallout of Evergreen students going full Mao, and the school, instead of providing him protection, blamed him for appearing on Fox News.
I linked to this before, but here is a pretty detailed account, from Brett himself, of what happened. It's far worse than what was reported.
