Swiss Gun Groups Oppose New EU Gun Restrictions

I guess I count as kind of a Neanderthal for being somewhat pro-Brexit...not that I have a right to an opinion... But damn, I would not want the EU (nor any other such organization) making laws for the States.

Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious, but how is such a relationship meaningfully different from ours to the Federal and State governments to which we are now subjects?
I have just about as much of a voice in the US Federal government as a citizen of a member nation in the EU. And, lest I remind you that a clown presides over us, it ain't like our government is doing a totally superior job.
I'm actually kinda sure there is something about this which I'm not recognizing, but I'm not able to figure it out with the 25% of my brain I'm devoting to it. I seem to vaguely recall some flash of such a recognition a while back (something about size limits for meaningful governance, perhaps?), but somehow I still puzzle over your anti-EU position.
The EU has no--zero--elected positions. All of them are selected by the various governments--ratherblike pre-civil war senators... and we know how that government worked out.
Uhh... incorrect?

Am I misunderstanding you?
