HXA: Van Jones on the Dangers of PC

Van Jones is very popular here at the institute, and it's always a cause for celebration if he happens to be on the teevee when we peek into the loony world of cable news. Which...I can't recommend, actually...but we still do it sometimes.
He's right on the money here. I especially like the gym / university analogy.
I'd go farther than he did in this respect: this species is not just useless in "the real world," not just obnoxious, and not just dangerous...it's wrong. It's intellectually and morally indefensible, and, politically, it's anti-liberal and on the side of totalitarianism. It's not just bad in its consequences, it's rotten at its core.

Wait... 'He became President of the United States in that moment. Period.... That was one of the most extraordinary moments you have ever seen in American politics, period' -- that Van Jones?

OK so to be fair I also just saw that he did a sorta-kinda recantation of that on his show a few days later.

Hahahahahahaha

Oh, damn, I had not heard *that*

That's embarrassing. I got nothin'. Very dumb thing to say.

However, I do like to remind people: *everybody* says false things a fair bit of the time, and *everybody* says stupid things with some frequency... So...I'd be willing to give him a mulligan on that one, I think, so long as it's a relatively isolated incident.

Yeah, he clearly realised soon afterward that he had some explaining to do, and talked about how he was an emotional guy and his dad was in the military and so on.

Yeah, I was actually gonna say, he can get kinda lost in the moment or something. Part of what I like about the dude, actually.

But damn, that Trump comment...SMH
