Are You "Causing Someone Emotional Labor"???

Jebus it's just getting worse and worse.
And what's with this weird new usage of the term 'emotional labor'? It was bad enough when it was used in the way one would normally use any term of the form x labor. But it seems to be used here--I suppose this is inevitable with the PCs--as if it referred to a type of crime ("victims of emotional labor") or injury ("causing emotional labor") instead of...y'know...labor... I reckon it's not bad enough just to cause somebody extra work...that extra work then has to be reconceived as injury.
Seriously, how are people getting away with such nonsense?

What gets me about this is there's actual real work to be done. Cracked! magazine does more original and useful research than this. (Cracked! really is out there fighting the good fight IMO.)

Years ago, there was this ad for an antacid pill. Two people are in a car, and one is polishing off a cheese steak or something. She does the pressing on the esophagus thing that people in antacid commercials do, so the driver hands her a box of brand X. She reads that back of the box and says "It says here to take it with water." Then she looks into the camera and cries "Water?!" with this what-am-I-Rockefeller face. Cracked me up every time I saw it.

Sales pitches get surreal.
