That stuff is hilarious, but sad. Several years ago, a friend of mine (granted, not the brightest of dudes) came upon some program online that made several insane promises, predicated upon this sort of "reasoning".

In a nutshell, he was convinced that he could take out loans in the form of credit cards, then pay off his previous credit cards, and due to the magical documents provided by the con artist, not have to pay the second set of cards. We all told him there was no damn way that would ever work, but he went ahead and did it anyway.

Strangely enough, the next month he was sitting with some nice gentlemen from the FBI, who were kind enough to not charge him with multiple felony counts in return for turning state's evidence. He's lucky he got away with only his credit completely destroyed, he was looking at something like five years in prison otherwise.

A curiosity question, do you love the conspiracies or the conspiracy "theorists"?

Holy crap, c0vek. Was this partially wishful thinking on the dude's part? Or did he really just think it sounded objectively plausible?

I love the theories. I guess I never thought much about the theorists. What are you thinking?
