Ben Carson: Pyramids Were Granaries. Compared to the God Hypothesis, Not That Weird

Compared to the hypothesis that a supernatural being created the universe, I'm really not sure that the pyramid thing is really worth getting all bent out of shape about.

I would respectfully disagree (at least somewhat). There is absolutely no evidence for a supreme being so people can believe whatever they like based on, IMHO, emotion and fear and community. Therefore, the hypothesis cannot empirically be proven true or false.

However, there is overwhelming evidence that pyramids were constructed as burial chambers. Overwhelming. Evidence. And not one shred of evidence that "Joseph" made them to hold grain. The hypothesis that the pyramids held grain is, to put it mildly, batshit crazy.

It's a fair point, A.

I'd disagree that you can believe whatever you want in the absence of evidence, but reasonable people can disagree about that.

Though, come to think of it, if Carson were a young Earth creationist, then there'd be enormous evidence against him on that front, too.
