Republicans Shut Down The Government

In case anyone, anywhere doubted that the GOP is the crazy party...

And they may even actually, finally pay a political price for their cynical, dogmatic, partisan insanity...I mean, when even Jennifer Rubin stops cheering and starts worrying...well, my friends, you may finally have gone too far. (Of course Rubin isn't really worried that this is insane...just that the GOP might pay for it politically...)

A party that is willing to bring about a shut-down as part of their extended temper-tantrum against affordable health insurance...well, there is simply no sense in which they deserve to be anywhere near the levers of power.

I also think it's important to keep two facts and one hunch in mind. The first fact is that Democrats running for the House received 1.3 million more votes than did Republican candidates. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2012/11/09/house-democrats-got-more-votes-than-house-republicans-yet-boehner-says-hes-got-a-mandate/

The second fact is that polls show that people really hate the idea of using a government shutdown to delay Obamacare.

The hunch is that if a clean continuing resolution came to the floor it would pass with a combination of Democratic and moderate Republican votes.

Here some evidence on the fact that most of the public does not support using a government shutdown or the debt limit to defund Obamacare:
