Today Is the 25th Anniversary of the U.S.S. Vincennes Incident

This is one of those things I can't think about very much. It makes me want to throw up every time it comes to mind.
It's worth remembering that Iran has very good reason for hating the United States... You don't have to be a blame-America-first-er to acknowledge that fact.

Thank you for the reminder of this sad, sad day-- it is sickening, and it is well worth "remembering that Iran has very good reason for hating the United States"
I remember that, shortly after we destroyed the aircraft, I was having dinner at the counter at a Denny's, and the waitress and a patron were talking about how they saw the photos of the wreckage and bodies floating in the water. The decided that it must have been a setup, because many of the bodies were partially nude.
Of course, bodies falling from almost 13,000 feet quickly reach terminal velocity (120+ mph) will have clothing torn off by the wind.
The destruction of the aircraft and the many deaths revealed a dark side of us. The response of many of us showed an even darker side of us.
Best
Jim
