Cuccinelli Tries to Recriminalize Sex In the OD

Cuccinelli is bad news.
In this case, he's using the fact that a 47-year-old dude was trying to solicit oral sex from a 17-year-old girl as his stalking-horse. But, given his lunatic views, it's pretty clear what's probably really motivating him.
Terry McAuliffe is our only hope. [Um, there is an implied facepalm here, in case that's not obvious.]
(Although, let me say that I do think that there should be some legal recourse for women of any age who are disrespectfully and/or aggressively propositioned for sex. I don't see what that's not a species of verbal assault.)

Equality, Mr. Smith, equality. Even if it is true that only the weaker sex requires legal protection, the other sex must be included. The disrespect is in the eye of the beholder and the complainant’s opinion will be dispositive – so the men had better watch their language, always a good thing. Women used to be able to deal with wolves (I saw my own mom do it once), but that was before feminism. And remember, Mr. Smith, there’s no telling what the aggressive “I’ve gotta have it” girls of today are capable of. You could find yourself the object of some moral nihilist’s unwelcome attentions, some erotically driven 20 year old who won’t take “No” for an answer. If you don’t go for equality out of some misplaced (and outmoded) idea of masculine toughness, where will you be? Unprotected by the law with no recourse, that’s where. OTOH, the female’s version will probably be dispositive of the case, so maybe you should just keep your mouth shut. These things are so complicated.
