GOP's Anti-Obama Jihad Began The Night Of His Inauguration

We're dealing with dangerous radicals here.

I applaud Obama for trying to bring out their better nature, and trying to treat them as if they were rational and well-meaning. But too many of the current crop simply aren't. I agree with him that the fever will (probably) eventually break. But, until then, we have to be clear about what kind of people we are dealing with.

Good to see that, in the spirit of patriotism, the GOP put politics aside to work with the president from the other party during a time of crisis for the nation.

Unlike the Democrats who fought GWB tooth and nail on every one of his legislative initiatives after 9/11.

Not "radical" but, Reactionary.

Obama's election caused a reaction amongst the Right. They solidifed their hold on the racists and bigots and decided that nothing less than a full roll-back of the 20th century, gains, for women, disabled, the poor and the creation of the Middle Class was acceptable.

But, yes we are dealing with dangerous people.

GG,

I chose 'radical' rather than 'reactionary' b/c I think that, in many ways, the GOP has become the former rather than the latter. The radical free marketism they now espouse, if implemented, would not return us to an earlier time, but, rather, plunge us into a radical, never-before-tried-by-the-USA future economy.

Even on social issues they're not as conservative/reactionary as they'd like us to believe. They're against, e.g., single-parent families, which used to be something like the norm in the early years of the country.

Still, I see your point.
