Precisely! But, if Joe Walsh and other Republicans know the Argument of the Red Face and Loud Voice buttressed by swearing wins arguments with their duped and ignorant conservative base.
I have a friend who knows a lot about economics and he thinks that the real cause of the crisis was political. He doesn't deny there was plenty of venality to go around among the agents of the financial sector, but he thinks that politicians should have assumed that those people would act as badly as regulations would allow, and should have regulated accordingly.
