Man, remember when Roger Kimball had some interesting things to say? No? Yeah, me neither.

No, wait! Tenured Radicals was pretty good. Not great, but decent.

But this...whew. What a stinker.

Somebody needs to make it clear to our friends across the aisle that they don't represent freedom, and haven't for...well...my lifetime, at least. Being cheerleaders for capitalist fat-cats isn't enough to make you the defenders of freedom.

I mean...they've been against every major civil rights movement of the last 50 years...not too wild about women or blacks until they could no longer hold out. Not not too wild about homosexuals, and will remain so until they are forced to give in. Certainly not very happy about atheists...nor about non-Christians in general. Not in favor of a large private sphere...not in favor of decriminalizing drugs...not in favor of any large measure of sexual freedom...cheerleaders for an imperial president...in favor of letting the gub'mint poke around in our phone calls and e-mails...

But they're all about letting the filthy rich get even more filthily rich.

Man, it makes ya get all misty and patriotic just thinkin' about it...
