What Are We Doing?
And By 'We' I mean Me

What are we doing now anyway?

Speaking for myself, it seems fairly unlikely that any new piece of information or analysis that could change my mind is going to emerge.

Part of what I'm doing is: reading e.g. the Corner because it makes me feel good about myself. And, seriously, that's pretty low. I mean: I'm more rational than K-Lo and Jonah Goldberg. Sheesh. This is grounds for self-satisfaction?

Watching the hatred and irrationality and intellectual dishonesty pour out of the right is, sadly, rather gratifying to me. "See?! See?!?!? This is what I've been talking about for the last fifteen+ years!!!!11" I seem to be saying. To myself. Over and over again.

Sheesh. I'm starting to even creep myself out...

One of my moments of satisfaction from The Corner was seeing how fat Mark Hemingway is.

Get lower than THAT.

It's so low, I'm posting this as Anonymous. You'll never know who it is that sunk to such a level.

K-lo's fat too.

I don't know how you even read anything at that place, man.

It does nothing but aggravate me. No reason to subject myself to that. Crazy people calling people like me crazy is such a sad state of affairs, I just get all sad and cold-feeling inside when I encounter it.

=(

Wow, that IS low, A.

But I know what you mean. They all piss me off so much that all sort of bad thoughts come into my head. If there's anything negative that can be thought about them, I'll think it.

Unlike our friends across the aisle, though, I usually don't WRITE it and post it to the intertubes forever and ever.

I think it's largely because they're so pitiably awful, intellectually speaking, that I can only presume they don't even really try. Maybe they don't even know what really trying feels like, but the fact that they have done so little work (obviously) and have an easy job where they just write whatever nonsense pops into their heads, and are paid to spew their BS that passes for thought...

That just makes me want to find reasons to believe that they aren't living a life free of consequence for their total lack of intellectual effort. Fatness helps. At least nature isn't prone to providing people with consequences for lack of effort. Society, unfortunately, is not the same.

that last bit was "isn't prone to NOT providing people with consequences..."

Some guy on The Corner is fat. that's intellectual. I like the Corner. Everytime you say it's stupid, I go back to the bookmark and they say more then whose fat and whose lying. And Joe the Plumber was just some guy Obama walked up to at his own house. Everybody can say what they think except him. So I don't want Obama to steal my bosses and his wifes money (tax) and give it to me because I don't get jealous of people who work hard. they work harder than me I admit it especially Mark. Plus they give me a job. You want evrything to change with Obama but then I won't even have a job. Mark and Joan could probably make more money if they fired me if Obama taxes them. And thats the way it is and you know its true. I don't hate Obama but hes no good for me so stop trying to tell me he is.

Get a clue, A. Obama's just talking about going back to the pre-Bush tax rates for folks who are very wealthy. It's not stealing anything, it's asking people to pay their fair share. They'll feel it way less than us normal folks will.

You've gotta know the facts if you're going to make sensible criticisms.

Anonymous, if you don't care to actually discuss issues, stop posting. It's not helping anything. If it's doing anything, it's making you and the McCain campaign look worse.

If you actually respect your candidate, you'll try a little harder to come up with substantive posts. This sort of carelessness only makes your position look worse.

O.k., Anonymous (er, we have several Anonymi, so I'll designate this one 'Stupid Anonymous), you're outta here.

From now on, everything you post will automatically be deleted.

We tried to reason with you, but you couldn't resist being a stupid asshole. So that's it for you.

1) Work on your hatred, it's eating you.

2) Yes, I think changing each other's minds and votes is possible in a reasonable discussion. If it's not possible, that means someone in the discussion is behaving incorrectly.

3) You have yet to point out a single lie we have told one another.

4) No one here has said McCain is a racist.

5) No one here has said McCain is Hitler.

6) Obama's "people" have not said McCain is racist. That comment was not made by anyone affiliated with the Obama campaign.

7) We have at least some evidence to believe that someone at McCain's rally did, in fact, shout "Kill him" regarding Obama.

8) I don't know why you think I am "writing crap".

9) I don't know what qualifies me as WS's robot. It's interesting that you're second in line of people who believe that I am somehow agreeing with WS on this issue because I [insert insult here]. Interestingly, neither of you have stopped to think that, perhaps sometimes people agree on something because it's correct. Further, I disagree with WS on a few issues, but this doesn't even matter to you, clearly, so I won't go into it.

Feel free to delete my response to remove all traces of the comment if you'd like. It's kinda useless keeping it up there now that the original is gone anyway.

Yeah, it wasn't looking like he actually wanted to discuss anything or that we would get anywhere at all.

Probably for the best.
