What I couldn't believe was that 48% of Republicans approve of the way Bush is handling his job, and 46% approve of the way Bush is handling the economy, as opposed to Democrats and Independents who have a 95% and 87% disapproval rating of how Bush is handling his job and 97% and 87% disapprove of the way Bush is handling the economy (respectively).
Also:
Among those saying they approve of the way Bush is handling his job, none say [the economy is] getting better, 38% say staying the same, and 49% say getting worse. Of those saying they disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job, none say getting better, 6% say staying the same, and 93% say getting worse.
Among those saying they approve of the way Bush is handling his job, all say the national economy is not in a recession. Of those saying they disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job, 84% say the national economy is in a recession, 11% say the national economy is not in a recession, and 5% are undecided.
Among those saying they approve of the way Bush is handling his job, 51% say [the economy is] excellent, very good, or good and 48% say bad, very bad, or terrible. Among those saying they disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job, 90% say bad, very bad, or terrible and 9% say excellent, very good, or good.
Are you fucking kidding me?!??!! What crazy alternate reality are these people living in?! I can be ok with *some* people having strange views, but all people who approve of Bush think that we aren't in a recession and HALF say that the economy is at least good. WTF?!
I dread thinking how many of these people will be voting in November. This was seriously very, very depressing.
