Harry Reid, Double Standards, and Bad News for Dems

I've figured all along that the Republican cornucopia of dishonesty, incompetence, sexual depravity and general nuttiness was going to be balanced out before the election.

I actually thought that it was going to be by Hillary Clinton getting a parking ticket, or some Democratic precinct chair scowling at a puppy. But Harry Reid's financial shenanigans will do even better.

How serious are they compared to relatively recent Republican wrong-doing? Hmm...lessee...lying us into an unjust war...vs....using campaign funds for Xmas bonuses....mmmm...'bout the same I'd say. And 'bout the same as covering up attempted pederasty in the House. And just about the same as alienating the rest of the world. And just about the same as letting bin Laden get away. And just about the same as the Abramoff affair.

So, you see, this Reid business, it balances out the whole slate of wrong-doing.

Jebus.

I was really betting on that parking ticket thing.

(Note: I don't want to denigrate the work of those pallid, sweaty young Republican staffers who have been frantically scouring everything done by every Democrat for the last 50 years to find something like this... Good job, gang! Way to fight the power!.)

(Don'tcha just love the Dems? Just crooked enough to make it possible for a well-oiled propaganda machine to give a patina of plausibility to the claim that the parties are equally corrupt. Nice going, Dems! Way to help out those Republican staffers!)

(If this doesn't catch on it'll be really, really bad news for the GOP. It'll indicate that the zeitgeist that's propped them up for the last 5+ years has shifted orientation.)

Surprisingly enough, Glenn Reynolds, who is no friend to Democrats but is a tax lawyer, says that Reid has likely not done anything wrong.

Well, screw Glenn Reynolds, then. I only like him whan he agrees with me.

But Glenn Reynolds is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, eh? It's a beautiful thing.

Zeitgeist = Whatever's on the front page of the New York Times or on CNN right now, or what Brian Williams leads off his newscast with.

Or else in Kevin Drum's blog. Nothing else matters.

(Harry Reid made page A19 in the Times, I hear. Don't you worry 'bout a thing, pretty mama. The fix is in.)

Is this the same philosorapter that is a rocking chair tough guy on the DummiecRATS underground infestation web site?

I just read your latest could-a should-a would-a I'm a bad ass post, I can't stop laughing, What a poser.

I've a reality solution for you bub, why don't you bring your king sized brain and your tough as cotton image over to Free Republic and mix it up with some folks more than willing to get into the fray with you, bad boy.

I don't think your as tough as you pretend to be and think that if you were even in the room with someone challenging you, you would fold and run for cover.

I visit the idiot web world of Dummies and get so frustrated with the tough bad ass talk and posturing, but DU won't allow anyone on the site that offers rebuttal or a different opinion. Free Republic is not like that, anyone can post you simply must stand and defend. That is the difference between real intellectual honesty and the punk hype sold to fools on DU

Come on bad boy, lets see what you've got in the arena of ideas......come on in lets play, shall we?

Good lord . . . constricting your options to either Democratic Underground or the Free Republic?

I've had nightmares like that.

Anonymous,

1. No.

2. This is the first I've heard about this other guy using the word 'philosoraptor.'

3. Cripes! A check of the web shows that it's all over the place!

4. I made it up. (At least I thought of it on my own, back around 1994, and started using it online (local vax, Dinosaur Mailing List).

5. I'm not sure about the "tough" part. Since I think you're mistaking me for someone else, I guess I shouldn't respond...but if you think I run away from fair fights--verbal or physical--then you really *have* mistaken me for someone else.

6. I don't go to DU, nor do I think about them. But if I were you I'd call them 'duhmmies' rather than 'dummies'

7. Why did I think that 6 made sense?

I invoke lack of sleep.
