Mac, I've come to believe there's no such thing as "political capital."
You get out of line just once (and Specter's position is mushy more than ideological), and you're just another ring-kisser.
John McCain. Joe Lieberman. Hillary Clinton, even.
Not to mention Philosoraptor. I've seen that one with my own eyes...
