"Dangerously Incompetent"

Wow, the Dems have actually managed to hit on a phrase to describe Bush that's both accurate and kinda catchy...you know, in a dry, wonky kind of way.

The Republicans are just better at and more dedicated to this kind of rhetorical maneuvering, so it's good to see the Democrats finally putting a little thought into it.

I kinda prefer "all hat, no cattle," or "born on third base and thinks he hit a triple"...but "dangerously incompetent" will do just fine.

Looks like the Democrats stole that idea, too, just like they tried to steal the 2000 election.

Give it up, Tom. You know better than that, dude.

This is one of the clearest examples of Republican derangement. Not only do they refuse to recognize that the Bushies tried to steal the election--they actually try to project the moral failures of their own party onto the Democrats.

I guess counting the votes--like anything else that stands in the way of unbridled Republican power--is anti-American...

Oops...sorry, Tom. Missed the winky face.

Thought you had gone mad for a sec.

Well, it's my honest opinion that both sides tried to steal the election. The game is what it is.

Perhaps Tom is right, and both parties were trying to steal the election. However, it was Bush who chose to steal it from Gore. In response, Gore was forced to try to steal it back.

No, Gore in no way tried to steal the election. I've never observed any political event more closely in my life. Gore's actions were not exemplary, but they were pretty damned good.

I'm unsure how asking for the votes to be counted in accordance with the law and expert opinion (of voting machine experts) can be construed as trying to steal the election.

Is vote-counting now unpatriotic, too?

Perhaps I was not clear in my meaning; which emoticon does one use to express a sense of irony?

I only meant that if Gore was trying to steal the election it was only in the sense that one might try to "steal" back their lunch money from the schoolyard bully.

Sorry, it was Gore who started the litigating.

Y'all got your chickens and eggs mixed up.

Of course Gore started the litigating. He was being robbed.

And the egg was first. Dinosaurs were laying eggs long before chickens roamed America'a heartland.

Sorry, TVD, the Bushists started litigating to stop the recounts. You could look it up.

Then there's the incidental fact that Gore was right and the votes should have been counted. So he was litigating to defend democracy, whereas the Bushies were litigating to undermine it.

Barking moonbat that I am, this seems at least marginally significant to me.
