Fomalhaut is not exactly in "deep space", being just a couple dozen light-years away.
Hmmm...I guess anything outside the Kuiper belt seems like deep space to me, but maybe there's an official definition...you could very well be right...
Guys, as the guy who posted that on Lies I was never intending to use the term "Deep Space" as the most scientifically accurate description or term. It was more to sound like a hokey narrator intro from an old sci-fi movie, hence the phrase 'the blackest depths of space.'
I would like to say that, for an non-astronomer, a 'few dozen' light years away is a huge distance in human terms.
