A cynical man might say: well, of course that's the way the NYT sees it. More neutral would be: many people are leaving the Dems and moving to the Pubs; more young people now register as Pubs than as Dems.

Or even: Republicans are winning the registration battle--bigly.

Of course nowhere in the NYT story does anyone mention the most obvious explanation: the Democrats capitulated to the insane progressive left. So people are switching to the Pubs.

Of course that's my preferred explanation.

Countercounterpoint: I and others have basically addressed this many times. Women are more susceptible to the loony wiles of the popomo PC left... But that flirts with circularity, and has to be fleshed out more. Also, of course, it could be wrong...
