If Trump Sends the National Guard to Chicago (etc.), It Will Confirm Fears of His Having Authoritarian Tendencies

That's the idea forcing itself on my mind at the moment, anyway.
DC is a special case.
He's got a good case to make about DC.
But if he starts doing this in other cities, against the wishes of (in at least some cases) the mayors and the governors...and possibly even the majority of citizens...
Well, although there are arguments to be made there, I can't see myself supporting it.
If that's the way they want to live, then I suppose they deserve to have it.
Many innocent people will suffer--but many (though not all--e.g. kids) could leave if they chose to.
That's not a decisive consideration, though. There's more to be said there.

Anyway: no, I'm not going to support sending the National Guard in where it's decisively not wanted, and where Trump has no special authority.
Eeehhh...upon reflection, we really need to hear what lawyers like Turley have to say about this.
The above thoughts are reasonable enough in the absence of actual, relevant legal input...
But that means they're of pretty limited value.
