Daniel Kodsi and John Maier: Philosophical Malpractice [re: Transanity]
A response to a really embarrassing amicus curiae brief signed by twenty-one (yes, 21) members of the Yale philosophy department.
Now, there are a couple of idiots in the Yale philosophy department...but there are also, as you might expect, some extremely smart people and good philosophers in it. That twenty-one Yale philosophers would put their names on this embarrassingly dopey brief is appalling.
Even worse, perhaps, is the obvious motivation behind it--that is, it's obviously mostly motivated by tribal allegiance to Woketarian dumbassery. Philosophers tend to think they're smart--and many are. But they also tend to think they're unusually intellectually autonomous...which...is just not true. So far as I can tell, philosophers are notably less sheep-like than most other humanists and social scientists (excluding economists)...but that isn't saying much. They're still strikingly ovine--especially when it comes to politics.
