A Gender Studies Dissertation: "Self-Storying To (De)Construct Compulsory Heterosexuality: A Feminist Poststructural Autoethnography Of A Self-Wedding Ritual"
This person is being given a Ph.D. to write a teen-angst-ridden personal diary entry on the condition that department-approved obscure language encoding is implemented.
I should write a script to translate these things by replacing all "technical" terminology with plain English definitions. It would take like two seconds if someone writes me the list of equivalences.
It would be amusing to pair these NRPR postings with translated companions.
"Written from the perspective of a guilt-ridden-white, obese, bisexual, middle-class girl-ok-with-being-a-girl graduate student in Canada, the wedding ritual and bride are asserted to be ideal female/feminine concepts."
Might have to add some full-sentence translations for common ones (sadly, this probably includes "Compulsory heterosexuality is implicated.")
This is as good a time as any to mention that autoethnography is methodologically equivalent to navel-gazing. I mean that literally. The paper is was submitted with navel lint and all.
