  2. Righto.

And what ought we to think about a school that (a) produced Tricky Dick, (b) hired Stanley Fish (and built its English department around him) and (c)is picked by Bill Bennett to win the tournament?

    *shudder*

    What's up with that place?

I mean, add in their possibly vampiric, Svengali-esque hoops coach (Rattus polonia, the mindless, cult-like fans, faux Princeton pseudo-Gothic architecture and it's like, welcome to the f'in Hellmouth...

We had a family friend who served in the South Pacific at the same time that Nixon was there, he said the word was that Nixon was a very good poker player...

  4. It's part of Nixon's established bio that he made a small fortune playing poker during the war because he had the patience to wait out hours worth of bad cards before moving in when he finally had the nuts. They called him "iron butt." He used his poker winnings to pay for the ticket to Southern California to meet the Commitee of 100 and get their backing to run for congress.
