Hegseth and the Big Talk

I'm not sure what to make of Hegseth's Big Talk...but why should I? I've never been in the military.

(I took the ASVAB because I considered going into the Air Force because I wanted to fly F-15s...which I eventually realized was a long shot. I ended up going to grad school instead...though my scores were high enough that the Army recruited me hard for over a year (I took the test with the Army, b/c their testing center was closest). In retrospect, I regret not doing a stint before going to grad school. (See how I snuck in that bit about having high ASVAB scores? Pretty deft, no?))

   Anyway, don't ask me. Go poll the 75th Ranger Regiment or the 101st Airborne or the guys at the Marine Corps War College, or the folks at USNA or whatever. I guarantee you can trust the collective judgment of such folk.

   Also anyway: I think Ash's point above can also be applied to Trump: I don't think the guy should be President...not in a sane world, anyway...but we stopped living in that world about a decade ago. And now our options are [a] allow the now-quite-mad left to keep on destroying the country, or [b] Trump.

   So here we are.
