Copenhagen Zoo Asks People to Donate Unwanted Small Pets for Food for Predators

This is a rather clear little snapshot of one horrifying aspect of a certain intellectual and moral orientation. Now, we don't seem to be talking about dogs and cats here...whether because that's a moral bridge too far even for these people...or because they didn't think they could get away with that just yet, we don't know...

   There's a kind of grotesque consequentialism at work here. Tired of feeding Buster, your gerbil? Finding that your apartment isn't quite big enough to comfortably house that pot-bellied pig? Just plain tired of your ferrets Frodo and Samwise? Well, don't just let them go to waste! Let the zoo feed 'em to its predators!

Don't worry...they'll kill them for you first...

   And, hey, now that some countries (looking at you, Canada) are poised to let children choose state-assisted suicide, why not combine these two great ideas?
