The more interesting comparison these days in the A10 vs the EMB 314 Supertucano. Yes, the A10 is a better aircraft. But the Supertucano is a lot easier to maintain and pay for generally for non-superpower allies. It has a lot going for it. Giving some to Iraq was a good bit of policy during the Obama administration .

ReplyDeleteYeah, agreed. From a layperson's perspective, it seems like an obvious role where prop planes might excel--and, of course, we're looking into that.
