First there's the dubious fish post. I didn't bother to do the research to see if that's as wrong as it probably is, but my guess is that it's totally wrong.
Now, there's this, which is so laughably and obviously false that I cannot help but post.
Unless there's been some big new discovery of which I'm unaware, most estimates of insect biomass alone..you know what, not even that. Most estimates of JUST ANTS have them outweighing us by approximately three to thirty times.
Just ants.
The Smithsonian has a nice little page: http://www.si.edu/Encyclopedia_SI/nmnh/buginfo/bugnos.htm which reports that for every pound of human on the planet, there are approximately three hundred pounds of insects.
That sounds about right.
So I don't know what "wild animals" consists of, but unless it's just the animals he can see from his house, that chart is absurd.
Dude, you're getting weak over here.

GAAH, I knew I was missing something. Stupid lack-of-time-quick-posting...
ReplyDeleteThe chart is allegedly just "land mammals."
NEVERMIND.
Fish post still stupid. This post somewhat stupid, kinda questionable, but mostly stupid in scope..
STUPID.
