What would make an author sufficiently conservative for your taste? As far as I can tell, "conservative" nowadays means "socially backwards". Of what positions are you interested in reading a representative?
Libertarians are ok, so long as they are your standard-issue crypto-conservatives pretending to be libertarian. But genuine libertarians like, say, the Volokh conspiracy...not interested.
I expect that it'll be easier to find sane economic conservatives than social conservatives, of course, so that probably means I might as well just read the libertarian stuff.
